We are excited to announce that our Second Annual “Sponsor An Elder Program” is back this Christmas!

Although the gifts and decorations are nice, Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones and giving to those less fortunate than we are.

Zak and I have been blessed with many wonderful friends, family and amazing customers! But what about those that don’t have family left?

What about those that can’t drive or get out?

What about those that will be celebrating what may be their last Christmas in nursing homes or hospice care?

Zak’s grandmas are some of his greatest friends, and there isn’t anything we wouldn’t do for them. Growing up, my Nana was my very best friend. She was the classiest and kindest lady I have ever known and she instilled my love for the elderly community! In 8th grade a fellow classmate and I volunteered our time at our local nursing home. When I became an adult, I traveled between 12-18 nursing homes a day all over the country testing pacemakers and ICD defibrillators. My career choice didn’t make me financially wealthy but it made my heart wealthy as can be! All of my patients were so grateful for the mere minutes I spent with them testing their pacemakers. However, it broke my heart that in all the years I spent in nursing homes, I could single handily count how many times I saw the elderly community get visitors 😢

That being said, Zak & I will be spending Christmas Eve Night with our family. Then, Zak and I will be spending Christmas Day delivering fresh, floral arrangements and spending some quality time with those that need it most, in nursing homes and in hospice care.

We KNOW that these arrangements will bring so much joy and happiness to the elderly members of our community.

For only $20, an elderly person will receive the below arrangement (valued at $38) and you will be brightening their Christmas morning!

In addition to the extra flowers in each arrangement, Zak & I WILL AGAIN BE MATCHING EVERY SINGLE SPONSORSHIP!

A GLIMPSE INTO LAST YEAR…

For week’s on end, it was ALL HANDS ON DECK last year! It took BloomHouse23 and the AMAZING 18 volunteers we had last Christmas morning, countless hours to cut, condition, arrange, script all 402 tags, and deliver the 402 Christmas Themed Fresh Floral Arrangements to 6 different nursing homes for our Inaugural “Sponsor An Elder” Program for Christmas 2022 - We literally poured our love, some blood (many cuts from dethorning hundreds of roses ) sweat and tears into each arrangement - BUT just as we had hoped ~ It was INCREDIBLY WORTH IT!!

Being able to see the faces of 402 elders, cooped up in nursing homes LIGHT UP when they were surprised Christmas Morning with their floral arrangements from families they didn’t even know, accompanied by handmade Christmas cards from grade schoolers in the Coleman and Suring School districts was an incredibly moving and touching experience!! I’m not ashamed to admit that I cried at several of the nursing homes and even with a few of the elderly after hearing their stories and seeing firsthand their appreciation. From the gratitude given to us, the families and the small businesses who sponsored, and all of our volunteers last Christmas morning, to the heartfelt stories the elders shared with us, or how they were so appreciative of this gift, or how this little random act of kindness meant so much to them. It was something that WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

Thank you to the families and individuals who gave up their Christmas mornings and used their personal vehicles and gasoline to help us deliver these 402 arrangements!

Thank you to the grade schoolers in the Coleman and Suring School districts who created handmade Christmas cards for us and our volunteers to give out with each arrangement!

Thank you to all of those that donated vases for this great cause!

Thank you to our floral assistants Kelly Denowski and Cindy Montgomery who volunteered their time to help us cut, condition, arrange and tag these 402 arrangements!

Last but certainly not least, THANK YOU to the 201 families and small businesses that sponsored an elder last year!! Without you, none of this would have been possible! Not only were we grateful and BLOWN AWAY by the amount of  sponsorships we received (our goal was 75 sponsorships + us matching those 75 sponsorships for a total of 150 sponsorship arrangements - and we hit that within the first 24 hours) but it warmed the hearts of hundreds of elders in 6 of our surrounding nursing homes, and meant more to them than we can even begin to put into words!

We wish you could have heard their stories or seen their expressions firsthand, but hopefully the pictures we have posted give you a small sense of the joy and magic of the season you brought to their lives last Christmas morning!
